Does Anyone Know How To Predict Weather With A Wooly Bear Caterpillar

We have had such a nice summer and it seems to keep on keeping on.

We have a few flowers that are hanging on

It is suppose to get really cold so I am pretty sure this might me the last day or so for them.

Does anyone know how to predict weather with a Wooly Bear Caterpillar?   So, are we going to have a long winter?

Exercise ?? Who Me??

Since I am not into exercising to lose weight, I guess I will have to do some work around the house

We have a lot of ornamental grasses around our house and while they are easy to take care of all summer long, they become a pain come fall.

So there they are waiting for me to chop them down

My wife is trying to cut them with clippers.  I want to take a chain saw to them.

I got tired of this job real fast so when we went to the plants out back, I got out the lawn mower and cut them down real quick.

Believe it or not, the lawn mower worked really well.  We don't have the rocks around the plants out back so I didn't have to worry about bending my blades on them.

Time To Get Healthy And Get This Weight Off ! @#_+*^&^^##@!

So here I am trying to lose weight.   I am also trying to eat healthy.  Not an easy thing to do for a junk food junkie.

This is my lunch, maybe I overdid it, but I hope to get better at this and lose some weight.

Homemade Tomato Soup Using Fresh Homegrown Tomatoes

Since we grew our own tomatoes this year, we decided to make our own Tomato Soup.

You will be surprised how easy it is to do and this tastes better than any canned soup I have ever had.

To make the soup, you will need to either blend or juice your tomatoes.

Put it in a pot and add Basil, Garlic, Onion, Salt and some pepper.

Boil it down until it is the thickness you like.

I don't like you add any cream when I am finished but my wife does.  Either way, it is great!

Italian Hard Salt And Pepper Bagels

My Mother has made these for years.  Very good and probably not so healthy.   But I will only eat a couple at a time.     If you believe that, I have a bridge for sale.

This is the recipe my mother gave to me in the exact words she wrote it.

Salt And Pepper Bagels
5 Pounds Flour
2 1/2 Tablespoons Salt
5 Tablespoons Black Pepper
2 Cups Oil
3 Packages Dry Yeast
4 1/2 Cups Warm Water
Melt the yeast in the water in a bowl and set aside (you will add this last)
Mix Flour, Salt and black pepper together in a very large bowl.
Add oil and make dough crumbly
Add yeast and water mixture
Knead for about 5 minutes (you may need to add more water, I always do)
You do not have to let this raise, just roll a little dough and make a small bagel like form.

When you have the pan full of bagels, put an egg white wash on them

Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 350* for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown
